Why low viscosity?

Stability control valves have tiny passages. Thick, cold fluid moves through them slowly. BimmerWorld explains that using normal-viscosity fluid in a car designed for low viscosity can delay ABS and stability control response and make the pedal feel soft in a panic stop, especially in cold weather.

Before you buy brake fluid

  1. Check your owner's manual or the reservoir cap for the fluid your vehicle needs.
  2. Never use DOT 5 (silicone) fluid unless your system is designed for it, and never mix it with glycol fluids.
  3. Only open a new, sealed bottle. Brake fluid absorbs moisture once opened.
  4. Brake fluid damages paint. Wipe up spills right away.
